An outbreak of food poisoning at Geylang Serai market has since claimed the life of one person. Mdm Samijo, 57 year old, died at Changi General Hospital on Monday, April 6. While another woman, Mdm Samat, 38 year old, suffered a miscarriage. The outbreak has been traced to Stall 320, also known as Rojak Geylang Serai. The stall is now closed and the Ministry of Health's investigation is on going.

Changi Motosports Hub Tender Opens.
Singapore Sports Council released the Request For Proposal to build and managed the Changi Motosports Hub yesterday. The site has 41 hectares of sea-front land with capacity for a racetrack of at least 3.5km (International Automobile Federation Grade 2 certified) and sheltered grandstand for at least 8,000 spectators. Races expected include MotoGP, Super GT, World Touring Car Championship, A1 Grand Prix and more. Other potential facilities include clubhouse, convention halls, entertainment complex, food and beverage facilities, general retail outlets, motorsports-related services and retail outlets, racing academy, research and development facilities, showrooms, warehousing facilities etc. |

Forest fire broke out at Sengkang. The current dry spell has caused open grassland and forested areas in Singapore to be parched dry. The forested area at the junction of Sengkang East Drive and Sengkang East Avenue, about the size of two football field, was razed to the ground before firemen from SCDF put the fire out.
