Serangoon Gardens Village, the 50 year old retail complex, in the private middle-class residential estate of Serangoon Gardens, will be torn down for redevelopment. A new complex with an 'elevated forest' theme costing $40 million, will be completed in 2010.

Sri Temasek - Singapore's Prime Minister's Official Residence is located within the Singapore Istana domain. Built in 1869, it was the residence of the then colonial secretary. It has been recently renovated, however, none of Singapore's three prime ministers have lived in it. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong recently delivered his televised 2008 National Day message there.

Singapore's 4th publicly-funded university will be located next to the Changi Business Park, opposite Singapore Expo and close to the Expo MRT Station. This site incorporates part of the land once earmarked for the abandoned plan to build the Asian campus of University of New South Wales. the present site is about 22.6 hectares. Expected completion date is 2011.
