Extreme skateboarders, BMX riders and Inline Skaters can look forward to a new facility at East Coast Park, with the opening of "Xtreme SkatePark @ East Coast".

A joint development by the National Parks Board (NParks) and the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the Xtreme SkatePark is the first skate park in Singapore built to international competition standards.

The inaugural Singapore Xtreme Championship 2009 scheduled for 29 & 30 August 2009, organised jointly by NParks, MCYS and ESPN Star Sports, will officiate the opening of the park.
