The 2.7ha plot of land at the junction of Punggol Central and Punggol Walk, where Matilda House sits, has been offerred by the URA for residential redevelopment.
As part of the offer, the architecturally significant Matilda House built in 1902, will have to be restored and conserved for residential use or as a clubhouse. Matilda House is a typical early-style tropical bungalow, with raised floors, timber lattice and louvred windows.
