The Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) in Singapore, is an electronic road usage pricing system based on a pay-as-you-use principle. It is designed so that motorists are charged when they use the road during peak hours.
Land Transport Authority (LTA) reviews the traffic conditions on the expressways and roads where the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system is in operation, and adjust the ERP rates on a quarterly basis. The ERP system uses a dedicated short-range radio communication system to deduct ERP charges from CashCards. These are inserted in the In-vehicle Units (IUs) of vehicles before each journey.
Each time a vehicle passes through a gantry when the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system is in operation, a ERP charge will be automatically deducted. Motorists are charged from 50 cents upwards for the various time slots. It is therefore prudent that you plan your trips into the areas where the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system is in operations.
(Rates are updated when LTA announces changes. We will not be liable for any errors or omissions.)
